A video about Leonard Ravenhill and his biography published recently.
I am finding that the speed limit of this life is somewhere around 75, but I always seem to find myself cruising right around 55. This blog is about that cruise.

PSALM 60
I have been meditating on the last verse in Psalm 60. It reads,
David understands something very important. If God withdraws His favor, any supposed strength which is in himself will soon fail. The meaning behind the phrase, 'Through God we shall do valiantly' is that those whose sufficiency comes from God alone are prepared to do battle against any difficulty.
Let us consider the implications of having this sort of an attitude in our fight against sin in our own lives. Remember, 'if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live.' Through God we shall do valiantly, and it is He who will tread down our adversaries.
"Through God we shall do valiantly, and it is He who will tread down our adversaries."In this Psalm, David says much about God rejecting him and his people (vs 1&10). He speaks of God being angry with him and God making things difficult for him and his people (vs 3). And then the final verse suddenly appears amidst all of this negative talk about the situation. How is David able to draw this sort of conclusion based on what is happening in his life as he writes this Psalm? I think it may be due to his trust in God.

DA CARSON ON DOUBTING THOMAS: A 'NEW' WAY TO SEE THE DISCIPLE
Here is a good sermon preached by DA Carson at SBTS Chapel. I haven't thought about this prior to hearing about it first in his book, 'Scandalous: The Cross and Resurrection of Jesus'. I found this sermon on the same thing this morning and I think it is a great way to see this particular passage of Scripture.
